The Land Trust of Virginia (LTV), headquartered in Middleburg, Virginia, is pleased to announce that it is applying for renewal of its accreditation by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the national Land Trust Alliance. LTV was among the first land trusts to achieve accreditation in 2009 and successfully renewed its accreditation in 2014.
The Land Trust Alliance is a national organization dedicated “to save the places people need and love by strengthening land conservation across America.” The Alliance is a national convener, strategist, and representative of its over 1,000 member land trusts across the United States.
The land trust accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands in perpetuity. The Commission conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs.
“The accreditation renewal process is part and parcel of the Land Trust of Virginia’s continued commitment to protecting the working farmlands and natural lands of Virginia in perpetuity. Through striving to meet or exceed national quality standards in governance, finances, stewardship, and transactions, LTV is proud to contribute to a strong conservation community both locally and nationally,” said LTV Executive Director, Sally Price.
