JK Black Oak Forest Restoration Project Video
With the help of over 200 community volunteers, Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy installed three deer exclosure fences and 100 tree cages in the oak-hickory forest at JK Black Oak Wildlife Sanctuary in 2022 – 2023. The project was made possible by the Society for Ecological Restoration’s Standards-based Restoration in Action program in collaboration with Microsoft. It is intended as a pilot project that has the potential to be scaled up to increase the overall impact over time.
