Give Choose is March 16
Your support is needed to protect wildlife habitat in Loudoun County. Loudoun continues to rapidly lose wildlife habitat due to development. You can help ensure that Loudoun preserves vital greenspaces where people and wildlife can thrive together. Your investment in Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy is an investment in the future of a healthy tomorrow where current and future generations can enjoy the awe and wonder of nature.
You can help!
GiveChoose is a unique 24-hour crowdfunding event organized by the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties to support local nonprofits. This year during GiveChoose, the first $500 donated will be matched by our board member, Janet Hensley. And, you help us win cash prizes being offered throughout the day!
Prizes will be awarded for the most unique donors and most dollars donated during select periods during the day. We are going to target the following windows to maximize our chances of winning these bonus prizes. Please donate during one, or all, of the below windows:
- 8:00 – 9:00 am
- 1:00 – 2:00 pm
- 6:00 – 7:00 pm
Your support is critical to our success!
Your donation to Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy for GiveChoose will provide us with funding to be able to continue to deliver high quality programs that inspire, motivate, and engage people to protect, preserve, and restore wildlife habitat in Loudoun.
Inspire
Your donation provides resources for our Audubon-at-Home (AAH) program. Our AAH program educates and inspires homeowners to create wildlife friendly habitat in their backyards. Our ambassadors conduct site visits, provide recommendations, and certify people’s properties as wildlife sanctuaries thanks to support from donors like you.
Motivate
Your contribution makes education programs and field trips throughout Loudoun County possible. Sally Sumser was introduced to Loudoun Wildlife when a neighbor invited her to a Monarch release event. She was motivated by the beauty of the Monarch to plant milkweed at her house, so she could witness the beauty of Monarchs, and contribute to their survival. After planting milkweed the next year, Monarch caterpillars enjoyed the bounty, and the next generation of butterflies were born to help sustain the Monarch population.
Engage
Your gift engages the next generation of environmental stewards. Teenager Emma Lloyd attended a stream monitoring event in Purcellville, and she immediately wanted to know more about the world of macroinvertebrates. Emma, and her mother, Amy became certified stream monitors, and, now, Amy is co-chair of our Stream Monitoring Program, and Emma has contributed articles to our Habitat Herald, website, and newly created Stream Monitoring newsletter.
You can be a champion for wildlife!
You can inspire your family, friends, and neighbors connect with nature. You can motivate others to get involved to protect, preserve, and restore wildlife habitat. You can engage the next generation of leaders.
Thank you for investing in our future!
Don’t want to wait until March 16th? You can schedule your donation starting March 2nd! (All early giving donations will appear on the leader board on May 5th. Prizes are also awarded for the most donors and dollars donated during the early giving period.)
