Fifteen birders came out for the monthly bird walk at Algonkian Regional Park on a gusty Sunday on November 16. These hardy birders witnessed a Bald Eagle catching a huge fish and a Red-shouldered Hawk popping out of the field to alight on a nearby tree. Ring-billed Gulls flying up the Potomac River and a Red-headed Woodpecker were also walk highlights. Due to the wind, only 19 species were seen, but it was a pleasant social walk.
The full list of species recorded for the walk can be viewed on eBird at: https://ebird.org/checklist/S284757962
