Gardening for Wildlife with Native Wildflowers

Alliance Partners, Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy |

Virginia Master Naturalist Ami Mason shares photographs and discusses the importance of wildlife relationships to the successional development of native flowers throughout the year.  Her presentation, co-sponsored by Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy and Loudoun County Public Library,  covered:

  • The negative impacts of lawns
  • Popular spring-blooming bulbs are not native
  • Native plants that can replace non-natives
  • Native spring ephemeral plant favorites
  • Her home garden makeover
  • Threats to native plants
