9. JK Black Oak Wildlife Sanctuary, Downstream
Site Description: The JK Black Oak Wildlife Sanctuary is an 87-acre parcel of land owned by Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy and located just to the west of the village of Lucketts. This site lies about a quarter of mile downstream of the northeast corner of the property on an unnamed tributary of Limestone Branch, which flows into the Potomac River.
Certified Lead Monitor: Amy Ulland started conducting benthic macroinvertebrate monitoring at this site in the spring of 2021. Loudoun Wildlife has also been conducting an intensive series of E. coli testing at this site throughout 2022, which was made possible by grant funding from the Tides Foundation, on behalf of the Google Data Centers Grants Fund.
