Westpark Property
In August 2022 Loudoun County acquired 134 acres of what was previously the Westpark Golf Course in Leesburg. The land was placed under conservation easement for the purpose of preserving the natural landscape. The property is now slated to be a park for passive recreation uses. Typically a passive park may consist of walking and biking trails and include many natural and minimally disturbed areas. Within the confines of what is allowed per the conservation easement, the park will be designed with input from the community.
The first informational meeting on the project was held April 26th, 2023 to go over the project’s tentative timeline and interim maintenance. The timeline and additional project information is available on the County Website.
Design Public Meeting on June 27, 2023
The first design meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 27, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, at the Loudoun County Government Center, Dulles Room, 1 Harrison Street, SE, Leesburg, VA. Details will be posted on the County Website. This meeting will be open to the public and is an excellent opportunity to voice your support for the implementation of wildlife-friendly design elements.
