Walk for Wildlife: Start Here
Presented by Abernethy & Spencer
Help Us Make This Our Biggest Walk for Wildlife Ever!
Walk for Wildlife is a celebration of our vital natural resources and an inspiring opportunity to joyfully embrace the natural world. Throughout October, this highly anticipated event brings individuals and teams together in the spirit of friendly (and fierce) competition for the most places with wildlife habitat visited, most species identified and most miles walked along the way. Keep track of how your team is doing on the leaderboard (link will be added October 1).
Benefits of participating:
- A deeper knowledge and love of nature.
- Quality bonding time with friends and family.
- More exercise, less screen time.
- Chances for great prizes, including Virginia State Park gift certificates, gift certificates for our online store and more. Visit the FAQ page for more details.
- Automatic entry into the quilt raffle and a chance to win door prizes at the Closing Celebration. (See the Registration and Awards section of our FAQ for more information.)
- The pride that comes with making a positive difference as a community scientist. (The critical data you’ll gather will be used in wildlife habitat studies.)
Who Can Join
Walk for Wildlife is open to individuals, adult teams of no more than 10 and and youth teams of any size. Everyone from anywhere around the world can participate, including you! And don’t worry, you don’t have to be an expert; all that’s required is an interest in wildlife.
How to Register
Registration is $50 per person, which goes to support Loudoun Wildlife’s ongoing mission to protect, preserve and restore wildlife habitat. Along with participation in the event, registration grants you a commemorative T-shirt if you register by September 22 (or until supplies run out), along with admission to our Kick-Off Event and Celebration Ceremony. You’ll also be automatically entered into the quilt raffle and a chance to win some great gifts donated by some of our generous sponsors at the Closing Ceremony. Visit the Registration and Awards section of our FAQ to get all the details. Please note that T-shirts must be picked up in-person at our Kick-Off Event on September 27 or the Closing Celebration on November 2.
