An anonymous Purcellville resident has donated a beautiful North American Songbirds quilt created by Station Stitchers. It displays 16 intricately machine-embroidered birds. The quilt measures 45 x 63 inches and can be machine washed and dried.

Station Stitchers is a charitable quilting organization located in Purcellville, VA.  They are entirely volunteer run and have no paid staff.  All quilts are given to people in need, mostly in Loudoun County. Some of the partner organizations of Station Stitchers include:  Loudoun County Homeless Shelter, INOVA Medical House Calls Programs, INOVA CARES Clinic for Women, Foster Care in Loudoun County, Tree of Life and Loudoun Nursing and Rehabilitation.  Over the last 12 months, they have completed 784 quilts and most of them have already been donated.

Station Stitchers loves to teach the community about sewing and the heritage art of quilting. They have a small studio in Purcellville where they house their materials and a quilting machine.  Visitors and new volunteers are welcome.  There is a job for everyone including those who don’t sew.

Raffle tickets can be purchased below until 10:00 pm on November 3, and they  will be for sale in-person at the Fall Native Plant Sale on September 9 at Morven Park and our Walk for Wildlife kickoff event on September 23.

The winning ticket will be drawn at the Walk for Wildlife closing celebration at Catoctin Creek Distillery on Sunday,  November 5 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. You do not need to be present to win.

All proceeds benefit our mission to inspire, motivate and engage people to protect, preserve and restore wildlife habitat.
