Many organizations are working to protect the Blue Ridge region from continuing threats to its natural and cultural heritage. We’ve learned from past successes that collaboration and collective action can strengthen conservation efforts and promote sustainability of Blue Ridge ecosystems. The Blue Ridge Conservation Alliance serves as both an on-line and in-person structure for local and regional groups and individuals to share information, mobilize interest, and coordinate action to conserve the Blue Ridge region.
Partner organizations have been working since 2013 to develop the foundation for the Blue Ridge Conservation Alliance. Our 2014 Alliance launch provided others the opportunity to sign the Blue Ridge Declaration of Conservation Principles and join us to protect this iconic landscape.
The Blue Ridge Conservation Alliance provides conservationists an online hub for natural resource conservation news and activism in a highly threatened segment of the Blue Ridge. By automatically drawing on web content from its partners, the Network creates a continually updated and informative aggregate newsfeed—a concise alternative to the disorienting clamor of social media and web searches—and provides a venue for member organizations to connect with like-minded groups as they pursue common goals.
