Girl Scouts Surprised by Groundhog Visit
On Thursday, April 21 six Girl Scouts from Balls Bluff Elementary gathered under the gazebo at Ida Lee Park. Mrs. L, a Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy volunteer, discussed with the girls the role of the Conservancy in helping to protect wildlife habitat and different ways we encourage others to value it as well in order to preserve it for future generations.
We were visited by the resident groundhog to the glee of the girls and the surprise of the groundhog. We all decided that nature was pretty cool and that small things accomplished by many people is definitely a good thing for the natural world around us.
