Blue-gray Gnatcatchers: Building a Nest
Blue-gray Gnatcatchers are very small, pale blue-gray birds with grayish-white underparts and a mostly black tail with white edges. They breed in deciduous forests and near edges, often in moister areas. The Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy birding team recorded this entertaining time-lapse video of a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher building a nest at Horsepen Run in Sterling.
