Despite the huge downpour that hit right at the time the presentation on July 27 started, eight people turned out for the program on Holometabola.  Dr. David Adamski led the in-depth discussion at Vanish Brewery on how certain insects have adapted their bodies to succeed and thrive throughout the many millennia.  He discussed “what is an insect” and common ancestors of insects such as horseshoe crabs, lobsters and other crustaceans. He also covered characteristics and development of various species and delved into detail of the Holometabola (Lepidoptera) which includes moths, beetles, flies, bees and other insect species. Due to the inclement weather, the outdoor part of the program to  see the insects attracted to a lighted sheet did not take place.
