Wildflower Quilt Raffle: April 1-10

Alliance Partners, Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy |
Wildflower quilt

Wildflower quilt by Lynn Lothman.

You could own a beautiful quilt made by Loudoun Wildlife Volunteer Lynn Lothman.  The quilt measures 53″ wide by 64″ long and is created with Indonesian batik. The flowers are machine appliqued on the pieced blocks to create a composition of wildflower portraits.  It will be on display at the Native Plant Sale on April 10.

Quilt Raffle
Raffle tickets will go on sale April 1.  Tickets can be purchased online or at the Native Plant Sale from The Wild Shop. The raffle ends at 1:00pm on April 10. The drawing for the winner will occur at 1:30 pm and will be live streamed via Facebook.

Artist Statement
I’ve always loved to create things, but it wasn’t until I lived in Indonesia for six years that I fell in love with quilting. The textiles of the islands intrigued me and the organic communal effort in the production of cloth endeared me. Batik is the traditional cloth of Indonesia and each distinct design represents a different region, unique culture, and history The weaving, dyeing, and waxing of the cloth is all done by hand with primitive tools and created in conjunction with nature. Now I quilt for pure enjoyment and the artistry inspired by the colors, patterns, plants and animals in nature, the environment that I feel most at home.
