3. Limestone Branch Tributary 2
Measured E. coli concentrations in Limestone Branch Tributary 2 starting in June 2021. The Virginia DEQ single sample recreational use threshold of 235 CFU is exceeded in 22 out of 25 sampling events, with values up to nearly 14 times the threshold.
Loudoun Wildlife is grateful to Friends of the Shenandoah River for providing the baseline E. coli data from 2021 and February 2022 for this project.
VA SOS Multimetric Index Score of 0 to 7 indicates unacceptable ecological conditions (red), 8 indicates indeterminate ecological conditions (gray), 9 to 12 indicates acceptable ecological conditions (green).
