16. Dry Mill Branch
Site Description: Dry Mill Branch flows from the west of Leesburg and becomes Tuscarora Creek, which is a tributary of the Goose Creek, which in turns flows into the Potomac River. This site is located off of Dry Mill Road and is about one mile upstream from Loudoun Wildlife’s Tuscarora, Westpark site.
Certified Lead Monitors: Mother and son duo Tracy and Cooper Niess started conducting benthic macroinvertebrate monitoring at this site in the fall of 2021.

Ecological condition rating scores resulting from benthic macroinvertebrate surveys at Dry Mill Branch starting Fall 2021. This site has continuously received acceptable ratings. These surveys cannot detect bacterial pollution.
