1. Black Branch
Site Description: Black Branch is a tributary of Goose Creek, and this site is located close to this confluence and south of Leesburg. We are grateful to Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy Board Member Colette Berrebi for generously allowing our Stream Team to access and survey this site.
Certified Lead Monitor: Amy Ulland (left) started conducting benthic macroinvertebrate monitoring at this site, with the assistance of property owner Colette Berrebi (right), in the spring of 2021.

Ecological condition rating scores resulting from benthic macroinvertebrate surveys at the Black Branch site starting in Spring 2021. This site has continuously received unacceptable ratings. No survey was conducted in Fall 2023. These surveys cannot detect bacterial pollution.
